Juan José Hernandez Valdez, a seasoned veteran in the world of tobacco craftsmanship, currently holds the prestigious position of Master Blender at American Caribbean Cigars in Estelí, Nicaragua. With an illustrious career spanning over four decades, Juan José has become a true maestro in the art of blending and producing exceptional cigars.
Juan José’s journey into the tobacco industry began at the age of 15, when he inherited a rich ancestry of four generations of Cubans deeply rooted in the cultivation of tobacco. His early exposure to the intricacies of tobacco harvesting laid the foundation for his lifelong passion and commitment to the craft.
Having honed his skills through years of hands-on experience, Juan José made a significant move to Nicaragua, beginning his association with American Caribean Cigars. In this new chapter, he seamlessly transitioned from harvesting tobacco to spearheading the production of premium cigars.
As the Master Blender at American Caribbean Cigars, Juan José has played a pivotal role in crafting and refining distinguished brands such as Rosa de San Diego and Bellos Mundos. His expertise extends beyond in-house brands, as he collaborates with clients to create bespoke cigar experiences. Notable collaborations include iconic brands like Rock-A-Feller, The Travelers, Maradona, and numerous others.
